Why Dartmouth and Oxford only?

Did anyone else laugh really heartily when you saw that The Rolling Stones made the list?

There are obviously a lot of great colleges that fulfill the search criteria, so I think maybe the research found Dartmouth and Oxford to fulfill the criteria to the fullest. It was either that, or there are D alumni on the research team who are crazy about the school.

Dartmouth is a great school. I love Dartmouth, but it might be interesting to check out the background of the research team.

the “research team” was also sponsored by a large consulting firm and the news wasn’t picked up on the AP newswire.
hmm…
seems more like an advertisement than news. is dartmouth one of their clients?

someone sounds bitter

LOL who cares? Dartmouth is awesome no matter how you look at it. :p

dcircle, make like Berkeley Boy and get off this forum if you have nothing productive to say.

xanatos, you’re so militant. calm down. i wasn’t criticizing dartmouth, just the merits of this firms report. a little constructive criticism is healthy from time to time anyway.

i assure you, i’m not bitter. if anything, i’m fondly attached to dartmouth…it’s a part of my life now, as i’m frequently there to visit my brother. i think it’s a great school and i’m always very proud to tell people he goes there.

regardless, i thought it was a productive contribution. doesn’t anyone else find it suspicious that booz allen hamilton is a consulting firm that helps large institutions with long-term strategic planning? it’s like johnny cochran making a list of the world’s ten best guilty people to represent.

I think dcircle’s criticisms are more constructive than berkeleyboy’s.

Oh, I forgot…the London Times report, which was sponsored by Harvard, has merit, whereas this, by a firm with no proven link to Dartmouth, must clearly just be an ad. My mistake.

what? who’s talking about the london times report?

plus the booz allen list isn’t a ranking system, did you read the article?

in short, your post makes doesn’t make much sense to me.

it is interesting that it talks about the institution’s schools of law, business, and medicine. I know we have Tuck Business and the Medical School- but um…since when did we get a law school?

By your logic, the London Times report should also be useless for the undergraduate level. After all, it was sponsored by Harvard, just like you claim that Dartmouth is a client of this company.

And I still don’t understand why you are posting on this forum.

who told you the london times report was sponsored by harvard? i think they were fibbing.

i’m posting on this forum because i’m interested in dartmouth’s well-being and future. as a former member of the ivy council i know a lot about how our schools run and what motivates large capital initiatives. now that my brother is at dartmouth, i not only have informed opinions from my experience, but a particular interest in the stewardship of dartmouth.

that, and i like irking touchy 18-year-olds.

wingnut!!!

Thy brother’s keeper I presume . . . but perhaps he should speak for himself. Brother where art thou?

dcircle just curious where did you go to college?
