@uncchlol I find your comment really insensitive (and I don’t get the movie reference). OP is trying to find ways to move forward after getting shut out, I think, from everywhere he applied. Decisions came out less than a week ago, feelings are still raw, student obviously worked very hard. @xsi103920 Since you are at a private school, your GC should be able to give you feedback about your results, and maybe help you with your waitlists. I liked what @par271828nt said: “Ok to find out the facts; keep an open mindset and tone; stay positive; there are many options and hopefully things will work out for the OP.”
Did you get in to NYU?
@JoonBee2002 oops I missed your comment but I did, Stern!
Congratulations!!!
Stern is a terrific choice to boot.
It must have been a terrible Spring for you (on top of everything else).
I hope you’re safe and sound, as well as your family.
I wondered if you ever got any feedback from your prep school because this whole thing is very odd. Mistakes do get made by GCs and I think you need the school to look at what was submitted now that you have a spot and don’t need to fear alienating them. I strongly suspect something got messed up though I don’t know if the school will ever admit as much.
Further once you are signed and sealed at Stern maybe stroll by admissions and put it to them because they will have the file.

Umm. Do not do this. Move on. Let sleeping dogs lie.
Congratulations to you. Keep looking forward in life.
@MYOS1634 @Waiting2exhale Thank you both I hope you are all safe and well as well during these troubling times.
@XAB235 Honestly I’ve had the same thoughts so thank you for the comment and consideration! I will keep in mind multiple things moving forward, but at this point it’s still a bit of a raw wound so I think it will leave it be at the moment at least.
I was looking to go to school in a little less chaotic of an environment than NYU because I’ve changed a lot over these years, but am super relieved regardless and any one path opening means there’s a lot I can make of it Thanks for all the advice!
I’m a parent whose son is going to be applying to college. I’m also long graduated from an elite school and in finance in a high position. Based on your acceptance to NYU Stern you seem interested in a finance business career. This makes me wonder why you cared about Princeton as much as you did? If you want to be a business person tops is Wharton but right under that is NYU stern and a couple of other programs. Perhaps Harvard rejection should have stung more. Heck it’s tougher than many of the liberal arts ivy leagues and you will have a thousand times better career prospects coming out of Stern. Trust me as someone who hires, here is a little secret, i have never given a job to a Princeton grad but my company routinely takes Stern grads as we believe them to be ready to hit the ground. I know a lot of kids are mesmerized by ivy schools and some are great but for business and finance Stern only takes a minor back seat to Wharton undergrad. If you want a Wharton or Harvard undergrad at some point you are in great shape. You are done with the BS of wholistic admissions forever.
