Why didn't tiger woods marry a black woman? or the problem of black women.

<p>In my opinion, black women are incredibly curvy, attractive, hot and good looking.</p>

<p>Also, white women are just cylinders. I don’t know what’s so attractive about them! :&lt;/p>

<p>As others already having noted Tiger being more Asian than black, shouldn’t the question be: Why didn’t Tiger marry an Asian woman?</p>

<p>There are probably a no. of reasons why Tiger married a WF and evidently only had relationships w/ other WFs (usually blonde, whether it be via peroxide or not).</p>

<p>While the role of the media portraying WFs as the epitome of beauty (particularly blondes) probably has some influence, another big factor was Tiger’s experience growing up.</p>

<p>Tiger grew up largely around whites; aside from spending a lot of his time at country clubs, his secondary schooling was done at predominantly white schools.</p>

<p>In HS, Tiger was a bit of a misfit; aside from some racial taunting, he was also seen as a bit of a geek (skinny and a bit goofy looking) and never was part of the popular “in” crowd.</p>

<p>However, as Tiger’s notoriety as a golfer increased, he was finally able to convince a popular blonde classmate to date him (much to his father chagrin) - and that probably made feel as if he had “made it.”</p>

<p>Tiger continued dating the girl while he attended Stanford, but broke up w/ after he invited her up to Stanford via a “Dear John” letter (sending her luggage back to her) - probably due to pressure from his father, but it seems that the HS/college blonde GF set the imprint for the rest of Tiger’s dating life.</p>

<p>Another fact that may be impt. is that Tiger was well aware of race due to some racial taunting in his past, his time spent at country clubs, as well as ribbing from his schoolmates that he took to be insulting (e.g. - Tiger’s nickname on the Stanford golf team was “Urkel” from the TV show “Family Matters” - which he took to be racist).</p>

<p>It’s probably a good bet that Tiger seemingly only dating WFs has to do w/ a combination of his insecurity (of wanting to feel a part of the “in” crowd) and as wanting to show his success/power.</p>

<p>Otoh, it could simply be that he is attracted to WFs (particularly blondes) b/c that is what his first real GF was.</p>

<p>Anyway, I find it a bit ironic that Tiger and others (such as OJ) are aware of racism and bias and yet, make seemingly biased “choices” w/ regard to their personal relationships.</p>

According to ABC new, I can’t remeber the exact statistic but about 46% of African American women have never been married. This is obviously a problem.
Is this because African American women aren’t portrayed by the media as attractive? Is it because a percentage of African American women act in ways that “turn off men” both white and black? Are there other reasons?

<p>The main reason is that there just aren’t enough BMs around.</p>

<p>BMs, esp. young BMs, tend to have a high mortality rate, as well as a higher incarceration rate than the rest of the male pop.</p>

<p>For educated, professional BFs - it gets worse since BFs tend to a higher education in signifcantly greater nos. than BMs.</p>

<p>Considering that BFs tend to want to be in a relationship w/ BMs, it has skewed the power curve into the hands of BMs, esp. the educated, professional males.</p>

<p>Not only have I seen it w/ my educated, professional BF friends (some of whom are total knockouts, btw), but a no. of studies have shown that educated BFs have a tougher time getting married since educated BMs can take their time “playing the field”, since they are in high demand.</p>

<p>While the media has played a role, it not like there is a scarcity of media portrayals of attractive BFs (esp. on primetime TV dramas, music videos, or advertisement); also, BFs are usually portrayed being in relationships w/ BMs (unlike Asian females in the media who are not usually portrayed w/ Asian males) and increasingly, w/ white males.</p>

<p>Now, while there is the sterotypical portrayal of the loud, obese BF - ironically, these portrayals tend to be in entertainment geared more to the black audience - as evidence by the no. of BM actors putting on the fat suit and wig a la Tyler Perry.</p>

<p>But yeah, generally BFs get the short shrift in positive media portrayals in comparison to BMs.</p>

I think everything stems from male dominance. Black males, like myself, want to be in control. Many black women that I have encountered in relationships want to be dominant. They want to be in charge. They want you to call them every night, they want you to buy them things. They always want to be around you. They don’t want you hanging around your guy friends, or dancing with girls at parties. They get mad if you even look at other girls. If you are talking on the phone or texting someone, they always want to know who you are talking to and who you are texting. The common stereotypes of the typical black female are: loud, obnoxious, self-centered, insecure, and jealous. When you go to impoverished neighborhoods, many black males address black females as *******. This is true of some men, but more so in black men. “women are second to men.” (I don’t believe this). So when you have a girl that wants to be dominant and express all of the common stereotypes that I have stated, black males get “turned off.”

<p>This is a load of BS.</p>

<p>If anything, educated, professional BFs put up w/ a lot of crap from BMs b/c the BMs know that they can get away w/ it (due to supply and demad).</p>

<p>And the so-called complaints that some BMs have about BFs is exactly the same some WMs have about WFs (fat, lazy, masculine, feminist, materialistic, bossy, etc.).</p>
