Why do people get so mad when they get rejected?

Is it a blow to their self esteem? If you follow all the requirements and fulfill their objectives, you’ll obviously get in.

I’m fairly sure you’re a ■■■■■–but just to set the record straight: no: you will not necessarily get in merely by fulfilling requirements; a competitive GPA, along with character-defining extra curricular activities, are often just as important.

I’ve never met anyone who was happy to be rejected, requirements met or not.

How is this even a real question?

there’s a slap for something like this…

Guys I just farted

well it depends if the person has the gpa and everything than yah i would be upset too, but if they had a 2.45 trying to get in to the UC i would just go lolol if they get rejected. Like i know quite a few people who think its okay to get C in all your major classes since CSU minimum major gpa to maintain is like a 2.0. I think only time you should be mad is when you put in your best effort and met the competitive gpa the class needed and etc.

TLDR if you didn’t try your best to get your class and be competitive for where you wanna go than tough luck. Since there are plenty of other people who put in the effort to get a 4.0.

Because you eat sharks.

People should be happy if they get rejected from a school they would really like to go to… right?

Requirements aren’t everything. people do all the requirements and still get rejected, which is why they get angry. Pretty much common sense.

i think this is a legitimate question. the only legitimate reason to get mad is if you felt you are a qualified applicant and met the requirements and THEN rejected.

everyone is disappointed at being rejected, but that’s not the same as getting mad.

remember the year when UCSD sent out a bunch acceptance letters to students that were actually rejected? great time to get mad…

i’ve been recognizing lately, people have been showing their true colors around CC lately.

SFKid, i know this hits you most, because you had such a high gpa…sorry dude/

i’m talking about people who don’t even qualify. For example, missing units and major requirements. Is there really any other explanation on why your admission got denied?

When you really think about it. For some schools you are allowed to miss certain IGETC requirements-and some major prerequisites are not offered, and oftentimes, counselors do not tell of major prereqs to starting students (it was actually I that did my research to find out major prerequisites then ask my counselor about).

But yeah there can be other explanations. To be honest, it isn’t like ‘follow the rules and you will be accepted’. Its harder than that. There are people who qualify that don’t get accepted. I don’t know, your title sounds a bit misleading.

And people get mad because they get rejected. Are we supposed to be happy when we get rejected? You’re going to be sad or mad either way.

@ricewater yah sorry bout the title lolol

Maybe they realize, once they get rejected, that they did not do enough.

Because rejection is a slap in the face, at least when you’ve worked for what you are trying for. It’s someone that you don’t know telling you that your best isn’t good enough.

At this point, I’d handle rejection from a guy that I really like better than I’d handle a rejection from a school.

lol at this question, this is human nature. funny stuff.
