<p>I’m sorry, but smoking is the stupidest thing any human being can do in their life. They are technically killing themselves. No offense if you do, but what’s the point? Sorry, I may not know if there is a fun thing to it. Is there a hidden pleasure behind it you get when doing it? Every day I’m at the university library countless people are out there doing it. And they irritate me beyond reason as I have to constantly maneuver around them to get away from their smoke!</p>

<p>I share your consternation, B4L. When I meet a smoker in a context when they are not smoking I do not have a problem with them, but when I encounter a smoker smoking, I hate them. I really do–and I know that’s not right or fair because they’re addicts to one extent or another–but it’s what I feel.</p>
<p>I think it’s stupid as well. Their are much better (and healthier) ways of reducing stress, or of accomplishing whatever it is one is trying to gain through smoking. I do have some sympathy for people who try to stop though, because I’m sure they’re trying the best they can.</p>
<p>You all are making the assumption that the human being is trying, or at least should be trying to lead an optimal lifestyle with regard to health. Hardly anyone begins smoking without the knowledge of its negative effects on health, making the choice not a matter of intelligence, just different values.</p>

<p>My boyfriend smokes once a day or once every two days.</p>
<p>But this is a miracle for him, since he did heavy drugs all the time years ago. Cigarette smoking is his way of dealing with his heavier drug usage.</p>
<p>And I’m going to be honest here, I think cigarette smoking is a turn on (though, I’m not sure why).</p>

<p>It just frustrates me. i couldn’t care less if you wanna screw over your own body and lungs, well i do but yea, but when people smoke around you and you begin to smell it, that’s when i get mad.</p>
<p>This can go for anything, like yawn said. For me, I’m okay with smoking but can’t stand the thought of people drinking.</p>
<p>When people are tipsy/drunk and try to hit on me or just act stupid, that’s when I get mad.</p>
<p>At least smoking doesn’t impair your judgement or coordinatino.</p>
