Why do schools request end of the year grades?

I’m so confused. I was accepted to Poly Prep in NYC, and already got placed in Advanced math and science classes (mostly likely based on my 1st quarter grades). So why do they need my end of the year grades??

to make sure you didn’t flunk or start seriously slacking (think Cs, C-s, Ds). they still have the right to revoke your admission, and change your courses.

what if you drop in math from a 98 to a 92?

hahaha, something that little won’t matter. if you go from 90s to all 60s/70s, that might raise some flags, though…

what if i went from As to a couple of Bs

^ It doesn’t matter…a B is not the end of the world, they’re not going to rescind your admission for getting a B.

They just want to know that you didn’t get a bunch of D’s and F’s.

They ask for grades just to make sure you didnt trick em! =D

To the best of my understanding you need to have a HUGE drop in grades, I be willing to bet you’re going to be fine. Allot of kids have their grades dip a bit. You are not going to get your admission revoked over a few B’s. I’d also think that they might want your grades on file, but that’s just a hunch.
