Why do they hate Mexico so much?

Ignorance, but also cruelty, you gotta see what they said

Ignorance, perhaps fear (we fear what we don’t understand) and their own insecurity (they feel insecure and putting other people down somehow makes them feel better or more important).

I also think that the anonymous nature of the internet allows people to say things they ordinarily wouldn’t say if they were speaking face to face with another person. In a way, that’s almost scarier because you never know what people are really thinking and how widespread the racism might be.

I think that African Americans have it worst. I live in the Metro part of St.Louis, and if you head out a little further, you get to a lot of farm land. A lot of the people out there have no problem if there is a Hispanic or Asian cutting their grass or w/e (being paid). But if it’s an African American wanting to do it, no way. They will not allow it.

Point being we have a lot more racism IMO towards African Americans then we do Hispanics, easily.

And do realize you were looking at “Yahoo” message boards. You should see ones about African Americans, its not any better.

Yeah, man I know, actually most of the yahoo posts were directed to “Mexican pigs” and ■■■■■■■■■■ How can this still happen now a days, man? Does it change from the “red” states to the “blue” ones?
And by the way, I’m sorry if I did much ado about nothing, but I was so ****ed off that I needed a little bit of healthy posters’ opinions LOL

Why do people take that so seriously? All of the Yahoo comments are like that. You should read any about George Bush or Republicans.

Why do people take is seriously? Because racism can be and is a big problem. Yes, we have gotten past the blatent, in-your-face racism, but the subtle, beneath the surface racism is still there and still a problem.

Those people are doing it for attention and to get a rise out of you, which is working apparently. Like I said, check out the comments of other Yahoo articles. All of them are just filled with brainless chatter.

Mexico is a wonderful place … I spent two weeks living there with a family, and every day I wish I was still living there. The people, the culture, the food … everything is better there.

there are a lot of ignorant people at my school, including the current valedictorian who said she hated Mexicans. they also made fun of them by wearing sombreros during a revised version of a play on Pandora’s Box… also faking a mexican accent, all made to sound humorous. furthermore, they laugh when someone mentions the word Mexico, as in “I’m going to Mexico.” these suburban kids have been living in a bubble…
