<p>Hi guys, I just went to a blog in yahoo, it was about the US traveling recommendations for safety when traveling to Mexico. That's fine, you gotta be careful in some places. But there was this blog with people saying of sorts of things like "I respects pigs more than Mexicans", "Kill them all", "No honest Mexicans are there to be found", etc.
Man, is that kind of thinking generalized right now in the US? I'm a little affraid about it since I'm moving there in September :(</p>

No, don't worry, nothing to be afraid of, you won't find anything like that. Not to say racism doesn't exist, but there are just as many people who dislike asians, mideasterners, french, europeans, etc.
After all, there are already many thousands and thousands of Mexicans in this country, and they don't have problems.</p>
<p>Dude a blog is just someone's opinion, not the thought of a whole nation. Some people in the states are jealous of Mexicans because they do work most people won't do. This is mostly the case with blacks in California who do not have majority black neighborhoods anymore because immigrants take over the cheap housing. Most people love travelling to Mexico because of the loose drinking laws and the general good time to be had without cops over your shoulder every 20 secs. Any bad experiences people have had in Mexico is when people have travelled alone outside the tourist area, or have been pickpockted. I have been to Mexico twice (Cancun, Nuevo Laredo) and had a total blast. Basically my advice would be to ignore pretty much all blogs as they are usually inept. For what Americans really think about Mexico, read the <a href="http://www.tripadvisor.com%5B/url%5D">www.tripadvisor.com</a> about hotel and travel reviews to Mexico and you will find a different tune.</p>

<p>Depends on where you go in the U.S. Overall, I'd say no, that's not the attitude Americans have toward Mexicans (or anyone else).</p>
<p>Even most racists aren't that open about it. Maybe this is just an ignorant white person thing to say, but I'd rather people pretend not to have a problem with me than openly insult me.</p>

<p>My great-grandma is the only person I've ever met who was racist against mexican people, and I think that was mainly because she lived in San Antonio and was miffed that the bilboards were in English and Spanish. I'd try and talk to her about it, and all she'd ceade was that mexican people, "are very loyal to their families." But unless you're planning on hangin' with a bunch of crochety octogenarians...</p>
<p>I've heard non-racists complain about illegal immigrants, but that's the only general population bias against the mexican people I really know about. </p>
<p>At my school in MD, everyone's jealous of mexican students and their AA boost, but no one holds it against them. It's all friendly. As I said, my Gigi is the only one who doesn't like Mexican people I've ever met, and I've lived in Las Vegas, OK, Louisiana, California, Washington State, Virginia, and Maryland. </p>
<p>So that's that. No worries. And, if you do meet someone who's racist, he's obviously a complete idiot, and who cares what an idiot thinks?</p>
