I have both, and I use both, but not as much as I used to.
We just don’t do much that I find post-worthy. However, I do post almost every Sunday on my IG Story for Sunday Funday! Dh and I almost always go to a brewery on Sunday afternoons, and I post a photo of him with a pint in his hand. Weirdly, I never post on my FB story.
If we do something special or where we are dressed up or if we travel, I will post on both platforms on my timeline or page or whatever it’s called. I also post my guitar videos, though I haven’t done much playing lately.
I check both daily, but I enjoy IG more. It’s just a more positive and less politically charged space, IMO. On Insta I like seeing recipes and clothes that influencers are sharing. And cute dog videos and comedians. FB is good for staying in touch, for birthdays, and for seeing local events that are happening.
My ds used to post quite a bit on Instagram, but he rarely does now. Not even his travels. I think social media has kind of fallen out of favor with younger folks.
I use both and one of my pet peeves is the lack of separation between the two of them. Not everything I post on IG needs to be announced on FB and vice versa.
I use both but I find Insta to be a bit user unfriendly. It’s the only place D posts ( she dropped FB years ago) and where S usually posts. That’s the only reason I use it.
FB was better before the incessant ads and people started posting a lot of toxic, hateful political posts. I have unfriended and in some cases blocked some former “ friends “.
I LOVE Instagram. I post once or twice a month - interesting life things (a place I’m visiting, progress in my gardens, cooking/baking successes, something funny I see, pet pics on hikes, etc - I think I’m a decently interesting poster! I follow people/things I’m interested in - food, polarizing political people, interior design pages, a few celebs, bookstagram, people related to hobbies like gardening, family of course and some influencers I just find interesting! I spend more time than a should but truly love it. I’d rather be on Insta than watch tv which I do limit.
I could give up FB in a heartbeat for the most part except for a couple private groups I enjoy and some far away family who only use FB. I don’t post much and am very turned off by people posting political stuff more than “please vote”. FB has really taught me some peoples true colors - and it’s not pretty!
I opened my first instagram when I retired 10 years ago to document life in photos. I have a private one and a public one. It has been so much fun having people from all over the world communicate with me via pictures on my public one.
I have both, although I don’t post anything on IG. FB is mostly photos of vacations, cocktails, and our place on the water. I communicate with my cousins and a few friends there and look at local stuff.
I follow the local NHL and PWHL teams on IG. Most of what shows is due to sisters sharing things with me.
With the changes to both because of Meta’s weirdness, I’ll be posting even less and probably deleting what photos are there.
