Why do you refrain from raising your hand when you know the answer?

^Exactly that.

I personally don’t do it just because of a lack of care.

i end up answering **** 90% of the time and it gets annoying. i love class discussion more than anything in the entire world. that’s a lie, but i love class discussion a lot.

so i don’t raise my hand if i feel like i’ve been the only one raising my hand.

but seriously guys, c’mon. if you raise your hand and give the wrong answer who gives a ****? it’s the teacher’s job to correct you.

I always raise my hand, no matter what. I don’t look like a know-it-all because I even raise my hand when I have no clue. Then I sound like an idiot.

^:D!!

Haha, totally agree with what smorgasbord wrote too.

^^You sound like my classmate.

Because I always wonder why the hell instructors are asking such questions when really it should just be assumed that we know the fundamentals of the course. It’s a waste of time, and students look like idiots proudly waving their hands to answer.
Basically, I see it as wasteful of time better spent on teaching us what we don’t know, and egotistical on the parts of the students who seriously answer them.
