Like This Is No Joke… I Have Talked To About 10 Randoms That I Have Never Seen In My life and they all tell me that George Mason University Sucks. Like Nothing Ever Happens There. And This One Perticular Person Told Me To Go To Nova Because Is A Great School.

So Who Here Goes To GMU And Wanna Clear This Up?

GMU is a fine institution academically, but its environment (rural/sub-Urban fairfax) is somewhat unpleasant and isolated; its also a commuter school as most of the “students” there are locals, often part-time. The teaching as I said before is superb but many of the students there are basically people who were not admitted elsewhere. Not all or even most of them, by any means, but a significant minority who can sometimes slow down instruction for the rest of the class since they often see it as “Grade 13”. Socially, the campus can slow down on weekends since everyone goes home but the administration is working on programs to encourage more people to stay on campus (either by building more dorms and more outreach to out of state applicants – and people who dont live in NOrthern Virginia region).

NOVA is Northern Virginia (NoVa) Community College; its also a fine institution but as a community college it has that commuter school rep. Students there can be often driven and often lazy; it doesnt have that party school atmosphere and socially its very dead since like most but not all CCs it lacks a dorm or a real campus (its sort of spread out, similar to VCU).

Neither of them aren’t bad choices for a certain type of student, but I would recommend doing more research on your own to see what is your best match.
