haha, is it really that bad? It’s only going to be for a weekend. Unlike that one time when I was 14 and I was there for 3 weeks, worst three weeks of my life. Haha. (Only because we were stuck at the house).

well I guess if you’re gonna be distracted and only be here for a weekend it’ll be ok, but let me just say you’ll be glad to be getting back to Cali, and I’m glad to be getting outta here. ;)

I have no problem with you comparing two similar programs. Yes I agree that Stern is among the best of the best business schools in the nation. What I do have problem with is the fact that you seem to judge the quality of a university based solely on one of its programs.

This thread is not about discussing business/econ programs. It’s about the entire university. Since you are a Whartonite, for you finance may seem like the only career existing in the world. The reality is, finance is just a small portion of the job industry. Matter of fact, only a very small minority of people think finance as their dream job in So. Cal. Southern California is more well known for its entertainment and media industry and that’s the area where UCLA’s strength shines. On the other hand, New York City is the World’s Capital of Finance. It’s where all the major finance firms/banks are headquartered in, and naturally, the colleges around the area will put more emphasis in their Finance programs. NYU is a good example.

If you want to compare, you gotta understand the situation first. Up in the Northeast, Banking and Finance dominates the job realm, and if you get recruited by GS in the Wall Street, you will become the envy of the people. Down in Southern California, no one cares whether you get recruited by GS, Lehman, J.P. Morgan, or any other BB firms. Why? Simple. As I said before, the Northeasterners and Southwesterners have different interests.

You gotta get out of that tiny ass box and look more into what’s out there in the World.

dhl3 congratulations on the acceptance to MIT

dhl3-

Lets put it this way. I can take any job any prospective business bruit wants, he cannot do the same.

Your point? Everyone here knows that Wharton is among the best business schools in the World (possibly the best). You are keep missing the point here. No one’s saying UCLA is the best university in the World. No one’s ever said UCLA’s econ or finace was better than Wharton or Stern. Why are you keep comparing only the business programs? Do you really have no other attacks to make on UCLA other than to compare its program in relation to some of the World’s best programs? That’s just as unfair as comparing UPenn’s… i dunno… media art(?) with UCLA’s Film program. or comparing UPenn’s Engineering with that of MIT’s.

Get over it. You are only here to make Wharton stand out from the rest. Well good job, no one cares. Do you really want to make your school look better by comparing your best program to a school that doesn’t really care (for the lack of resource and after carefully examining student’s interest) about its sort? The more and more you post, makes you more pathetic.

btw, we all know that you, Student5477, is a ■■■■■ account of TheWhartonSchool, so don’t make anymore sad attempt in concealing it. The cover’s blown, mate. now everyone knows that you are nothing but a ■■■■■.

gets popcorn

TO QUOTE dhl3:

“Do you have no ther attacks to make on UCLA other than to compare its program in rlation to some of the world’s best programs?”

A schools programs makes up the institution as a whole. You have just admitted UCLA is NOT a world class school.

Hey y’all (talking in my ucla accent)

I just got my bruin wear magazine in the mail.

I must say, the clothes look nice (i know, shocking!)

but there is white supremacy ALL over the magazine. How come they only got 1 hispanic, and hes like behind the white girl…why does the white girl get to be in the front?

and how come they got one hispanic out of like 10 models (white supremacy!) What about hindu, muslim, asian? why arent those cultures also represented? I thought ucla supposedly has people from all over the world.

so the amigo can grab her ass w/o being caught by the camera

Let’s not confuse program with programs.

I see an asian guy, an asian girl(or girls), a latino guy, black guys and caucasians in the catalogue.

uhh… you need to take reading comprehension 101.
I’ll be more than happy to sign you up for it.

hes not full on asian! he is white-washed! and on top of that, he looks mixed!

dhl3. You seem angry, smile much?

how come the asian doesnt get to wear authentic asian clothing? why do ucla white people gotta oppress us minorities!

Thou shalt not bash dhl3’s school.

Wharton deff has an edge on ucla in finance…hell wharton has an edge on everybody! I give you props for getting in…you’re “set” in the finance world granted you’re not a complete f’up or d’bag at your place of work. Like dhl3 said, ucla has it’s strengths and weaknesses. Many of us plan on going to graduate school, in which case, I dont see much of a difference between ucla and penn with the exception of wharton. It’s not like penn is gonna help you get into a better law school, grad program, or med school compared to LA.

why not LAX? since according to you, all universities have a good chance at grad schools. Not to mention, since penn RANKS higher, im sure grad school will love him for it.
