Students about increasing Anuities. Anuities were payments increase overtime, and don’t remain constant. This type of anuity is popular with pension for example, were the annuity increases by around 3-5% a year to adjust for inflation.

business students usually can’t deal with anything more than the basics.

Do either of you ever having anything intelligent to say?

This is a topic covered in most introductory business, accounting and finance courses.

They cover how to do it on excel, I am talking about how to calculate it by hand. How to determin each payment given a time span.

Most financial mangement classes only go over how to calculate an anuity with a constant payment amount.

Most accounting programs teach present value and annuities in either intermediate accounting and/or finance. If you want to know about them, take these courses.

Most teach about basic annuities NOT increasing Annuities.

at my school it’s the people in the actuarial science program who take those courses. i’d imagine it’s like that at other schools.

VTBoy,

Again, you’re completely wrong and off-base. I learned how to do that my sophomore year in college–both by hand and in excel (and both annuities that increase at a constant rate and those that increase at changing rates). Please stop making stuff up.

I’d also really like to know why you think you are qualified to speak about MOST business programs.

On CC, everyone is qualified in every field to cover every subject.
