My H has two pairs of glasses, for reading and for distance. Papers, wallet, comb, cell phone, iPod, … He is constantly digging around in his pockets and invariably finds that what he needs is in another jacket or on his dresser.
At least he doesn’t ask me to carry his stuff for him, but it is even more inconvienent when he leaves something behind that he needs.
I tell him he needs a man bag, but he just laughs.
I think he actually much more vain than I am.

Maybe suggest a briefcase? Would that be more “manly” than a man bag? Lol

I’ve never owned a purse either. Then again, I rarely carry much more than my wallet and phone. Everything else goes in my moving closet (aka car).

How about bifocals?

In Italy I did see some men carrying something that looked suspiciously purse-like. I don’t carry a lot of stuff. Don’t need a comb. :D

I am more interested to know why men don’t wear high heels.

Because unlike us, they don’t fall for the idea that how they look is more important than how they feel.

^^ I haven’t figured out why women wear high heels yet. They’re impractical, bad for the body posture, and dangerous for twisting ankles or trying to run away from bad guys. I also don’t think a woman appears any better in high heels than not in high heels.

No way I’d carry a purse but then I don’t carry makeup, one of those giant wallet things women have, a brush, feminine products, or any of that other stuff women carry around in them. My pockets work fine for me.

My son carries a messenger bag to work. His gf bought if for him. I guess she was tired of watching him trying to juggle phone, ipad, wallet, keys, glasses, business cards, papers, etc. He commutes by bike and train, so he needed something. It’s a “man purse.”

Everyone who knows me, knows for every situation, there is always a Seinfeld reference.

Because women do.

Every other guy in Paris had a Gucci bag, I swear! :)

Men do not wear heels, but there is this handy device to increase height:

My husband carries something that we call his “purse” when we travel. It’s a small canvas bag that he sticks all his electronics (phone, etc) in. It’s a little dorky, but not too bad.

I haven’t figured out why women wear high heels yet.

My butt looks smaller and my legs look better. That’s sad to admit, but it’s how I feel. I will say, though, that I wear running shoes into and out of the office, and I don’t walk too far at any one time in our small office. Outside of the office, I only wear heels for special occasions … and there aren’t too many heels-occasions these days.

As for man-purses, I see plenty of men with purses … but they are holding them for their wives. :)

Men don’t wear high heels?Prince does or the artist that was known as Prince.
Men do carry purses, I know one of my ex-roomates did. Not my husband though.

Prince can rock those high heels. I saw him in the early 80’s, and he was awesome. I would bet he carried a purse …

Trying to picture my husband or son with a man purse (other than mine which my husband will quite happily hold for me). Nope, can’t picture it.

My husband has lived in overalls the last many years (used to be an exec with an oil company, you can take a boy out of Arkansas, but you can’t take Arkansas out of a boy - not this one anyway). Overalls have a lot of pockets - and I mean a LOT. Drives me nuts if he is not dresses yet and I need his keys and he says they are in his overall pockets - worse than searching through my purse.

Eddie Izzard also looks fabulous in high heels ;).

Tbh, I don’t get the high heel thing either. I’m 6’0" so that could be why…

Both of my sons carry good looking canvas and leather messenger bags, big enough for their laptops. On non laptop days their man bags have been used as overnight bags, etc.

I once read in an article that anthropologists have noticed that in many cultures, even in tropical hunter-gatherer societies where people wear hardly any clothes, it’s very common for women to carry around their personal possessions in a hand-carried bag, while men carry their (often fewer) personal possessions close to their bodies in some sort of pouch or pocket. Not an absolute rule but a strong trend that cuts across cultures.
