Why I hate flying thru Chicago O'hare

I flew to see family over the holidays, and had to experience O’hare once again. Reasons why I hate flying thru O’hare.

  1. Every trip one flight either into or out of O'hare is delayed.
  2. ....and sometimes cancelled.
  3. It is horribly crowded. You literally are going out of your way to dodge people.
  4. The airport seats are uncomfortable
  5. You have to walk forever from one gate to the next.
  6. They regularly change gates as you are waiting.
  7. There are very few places to plug-in and recharge your laptop or phone
  8. Most of the restaurants are crap. There are no reasonably priced restaurants that are good. The only restaurants that are any good cost $40-$50 a meal....with ridiculously small pours when you order a drink.

Questions: How do people deal with O’hare? It is a deeply unpleasant place…any suggestions would be appreciated! The problem with O’hare is that it connects everywhere, and flights thru O’hare are always so cheap.

I flew O’Hare to Mexico ONCE. I was literally SIX YEARS OLD and it was such a horrible experience I haven’t flown out of there since.

I hate O’Hare. It’s not that bad if you originate there, but I refuse to connect through it.

I hate Atlanta more, though, and avoid it at all costs.

I have good luck with MSP and DTW. MSP has great little pods for charging devices and DTW has good Middle Eastern food.

I agree about MSP and DTW. I’m fond of both of these airports.
