<p>I remember reading ModestMelodies’s whole thread about why Brown is the school that is so great. Well, I guess I want to just share my opinions about my passions and ambitions, even though I am not part of Brown… yet >.<</p>
<p>Well I am a freshman at Loyola, and what don’t I not like about here. Besides the image that this school gives a liberal arts education and emphasizes a passion for education… the premed group here is only focused about getting into med school. Call me naive, but I want to get a sense that people are passionate for why they want to be doctors, and other things in life.</p>
<p>After reading the thread of how Brown allows one to design his/her own curriculum, I have been hooked since. I am obviously premed, but my passions lie further in science, basically I like learning in general and everything is so interesting. The one thing I want to accomplish in my life, is an ongoing determination and dedication to service not only here in our community, which i do, but outside of my community and be a citizen to the world (missionary work in africa). To carry on further, I want to be a missionary in Africa, by dedicating my life to them as a healer/doctor. I plan to become a pediatric cardiologist because I want to fight rheumatic heart disease and cardiovascular heart disease that is killing many of the malnourished ill kids in Africa. Further more, I am aware of the world as a whole, and the less industrialized nations, such as kenya, ethiopia, and the industrializing ones such as INDIA, are creating a crazy vacuum of sorts, in which is shown through bad demographics, and the pattern towards devastating the worlds resources.</p>
<p>This is what I want to do, and I think a place like Brown is full of opportunities to satisfy ones like me</p>
