Why (insert college here) essay!

How should one go about writing this essay? Shoud it focus on one aspect of the university or many different ones?

Wouldn't that depend on what you have to say? Let your format be determined by that.

I kind of don't know how to write these either...there are many reasons why I am applying to each school, but what exactly are they looking for, and how can you make these essays sound better than the rest of the essays out there?

BUMP please?

I don't think anyone can give you any specific advice. If you have one big reason for wanting to go to a particular school, then discuss that. If you have several reasons, mention them all. If one major reason and a couple minor ones, mention the minor ones, then say something like "the main reason college X is the best fit for me, though, is ..." and spend the rest of your space on that. Like I said, the format is determined by what you have to say.

I think the schools are looking for students that have done their research and are interested in attending. An essay that doesn't disclose any knowledge of what is unique about a particular school (or worse, mentions things that don't exist -- I've heard of this happening!) will not be very persuasive. Nor will it mean much to a school to tell them they are highly ranked, prestigious, or have a beautiful campus.
