I have been trying to drop my course for the past 2 weeks and the register’s office keeps directing me back and fourth towards different departments. Courses started January 25 and I’ve been at this since Feb 1st and now it’s the 17th and still no word. I am taking all my courses online this year and have taking way to many units as I have a family member I am taking care of in another state. This course requires me to fly down 4 times to take midterms/final which I cannot afford atm so I am trying to drop it.
Feb 1st: Trying to drop the course through the portal, keeps getting error code. Calls and gets redirected 4 times to different departments. Tells me I have to fill out a form. I fill it out and email it to them and they tell me its the wrong department, email it to the right department and no response.
Feb 3rd: Calls and gets sent to voicemail. Sends another voicemail and email. Calls again and final able to reach them. They send me another form to fill out and I need instructor signature. Sends form into instructor and doesn’t get back to me till the 7th
Feb 7: Gets signature and sends form in through email. Email says I need to email another department to get it approved. Emails departments and they never get back to me. Calls 5 times and emails 3 more times.
Feb 8: Emails professor and Dean of the school and they both send me to the same person’s email phone number to drop the course.
Feb 9: Emailing and calling, no answer
You guys probably get the gist now. At this point I am on the 5th week of courses and still trying to drop/withdraw from the course and no response. I going to call and email them again, but I am worried as on the form it says after the 5th weeks I will need a doctors notes and extreme case to drop the course. Was wondering if I should contest this and says that I’ve been trying to drop for weeks now and I haven’t been getting replies back. I have the emails and phone calls/voicemails to back it up.
