Why is my status "initiated"?

In my financial aid to do list, it shows two documents: aid app certificate & parent tax returns. The status is “initiated”, and I have no idea what that means? When I click on the documents, it says that I need to submit them in IDOC…BUT I turned in my IDOC on time. In my IDOC portal, it evens shows the receipts that cornell received both of those documents (even the date). Does this indicate anything about a rejection? And does anyone else have this problem?

Just email them and tell them

it is not really a problem, it is part of their process. The same thing happened to me and as of today they have checked off the majority of the financial aid documents except 2. It is normal and it doesn’t indicate any sort of rejection/problem because admissions are need-blind so they don’t even look at your financial aid until you are accepted, they are just so busy it takes them a while to check off financial aid documents off the list online.

I have the parent tax returns and the transfer app as “initiated”, they may be doing in them in a specific order for everyone or they may be working on finishing freshman admissions they are probably not getting into transfers yet after Ivy Day. Once they get to them, the status will change and you won’t see anything on the checklist left. Don’t worry.
