The rate for New Gibbons is $6,792 for the year, and all the other Residence Halls cost $6,525.00 for the school year. I usually would call Rutgers housing for an immediate answer but it’s Saturday lol

guess what guys? I found out why New Gibbons is slightly more expensive. It turns out that students living there do not have to go home for breaks (i.e. thanksgiving, winter, and spring break). I am wait listed for Busch and Livingston, but now I think I’m going to decline both of them because this is sweet.

thats ridiculous. unless you’re an international student why wouldnt you go home during breaks. i mean like 95% of the school lives less than 3 hours away…

Come on, really? There are several reasons to not go home during breaks besides being an international student. Students may have a job/internship near campus, and some may take winter courses, and others simply don’t want to deal with their household members back home such as a nagging parent so being away from it all can rejuvenate one mind for the next semester.

even so whats ridiculous is that I have to pay more money b/c the building is open during breaks.

i could understand if the better dorms like Hardenburgh or the apartments and suites were more expensive but I had no say in which dorm I was put in so its not right that I have to pay more…
