Don’t you guys agree? What if you live in a place with no diversity, then you would be at a disadvantage.

Diversity doesn’t have to mean racial/ethnic/religious diversity, which is what I’m guessing you’re referring to. To be diverse is to have a variety in some way…in that sense, every group is diverse. It may be to your advantage to write an essay about, say, diversity of thought instead of the usual “look, people are lots of different colors, yay diversity!” essay.

Diversity really involves the state or fact of being diverse; different; unlike. In society, we have diversity all around us. People are different in physical attribute as well as their tastes. Some like coffee, others tea. Some like theatrical performances; others like movies. Some like team sports (baseball or football); others like individual sports (like tennis). At school, we have the math and science wizards; others excel in psychology, sociology and government. Some are raised in large families; others are the lone child.

Surely, you can find a number of ways of tackling or celebrating diversity – even as you choose to view yourself as living " in a place with no diversity". All you need is imagination.
