Why is the Essential 600 list so underrated?

The 600 wordlist is in the book [Essential Vocabulary and Critical Reading].

The thing is that Direct Hits and Essential 600 list have the same author, yet no one mentions the essential 600 at all.
It really does well in the international tests, not sure about the U.S ones too.

First time I did the test(I studied the first 100 words in DH) had 11 correct , 3 omitted and 5 wrong, but when I did a sat(with Essential 600)recently at june 2014 I got 15 correct and 4 wrong(one of them was in the list too, btw).

Any ideas?

To me it is a must for international students.

Hits the list got in recent SATs:

I used Essential 500 and have to say it was excellent as well; I can say with confidence I get every vocab question right thanks to that and Barron’s flashcards. Just not enough people know about it, I guess.

My son used it and scored 800 on the SAT Reading. I think he only got 1 sentence completion wrong.
