Why isn't Skidmore listed with CC Top Liberal Arts Colleges?

I noticed in the CC Top Liberal Arts Colleges List Skidmore isn’t listed but similar schools Trinity (CT) and Connecticut College are. How do schools make the list?

I think they did not have enough threads

Now I noticed Connecticut College isn’t on the list, I thought it used to be, does the list change?

It’s mostly historic. Don’t place much weight on it.

University of Richmond isn’t on the list either. Connecticut College, Skidmore, and UR should be on this list. So many rely on it for guidance and credibility.

Folks like me, that is. I’m relatively new to this site, and that’s my experience and impression of this list of colleges.

labrad00dle, would you replace your choices with others on the list, or just add them, I guess the list has to stop somewhere. I imagine it’s not just volume of threads as this might favor large schools. As someone who used this site for a large amount of my information, I do give this list some credence.

Lots of similarly ranked LACs are not on that list. It means nothing.

I wonder if Skidmore having a very low endowment per student effects it’s reputation. Many of the similarly ranked schools that do make the list have pretty large endowments per student.

I’m certainly not qualified to decide which institutions should or should not be on this list. Since CC is an important resource for the inexperienced and experienced alike, it would be good to see more similarly ranked schools on the list.

well, a lot of highly regarded liberal arts colleges—pitzer, connecticut, union, richmond, etc.—aren’t on the list. a lot of the schools are interconnected though (pitzer with the other claremont schools, connecticut with the other nescac schools, etc.), so if you hear of one, you’re bound to hear of the others.

I’ve noticed that the CC list tracks pretty closely with the US News college rankings.
