<p>Hello all, I just wanted to know , why should a student in the US go first to the pre Med school? here in Germany we dont have to , just 6 long years together !</p>
<p>Because that’s the way that the educational system has evolved here in the States. I think many students are thankful that they got to experience the undergraduate atmosphere and the opportunities it presents before going through medical school which is much more structured and regimented. </p>
<p>US students who wish to practice in the US are advised to go through the 8 year sequence because residency programs strongly favor graduates of US medical schools, and medical schools favor graduates of US colleges…</p>
