Why so stressed?

I took the Sat with 4 hours of sleep and no breakfast and got a 1750.

All the universities that I have applied to are fine with that. Why are you guys so damn stressed on SAT scores.

I guess it does help that I will be playing a sport for a D1 school in cali .

But still Ive seen people ****ed and worried, about there 2100+ score. Hello? Get outside and enjoy life, you will be alright.

/ventoff

Maybe if you understood what it was to be on level playing field (i.e. not an athlete) you’d understand why. Believe it or not, you wouldn’t have gotten into Berkeley, USC, or UCLA (I’m assuming it’s one of those three) with a 1750. I’ll admit, people asking if they should retake 2250 is pretty ridiculous, but it’s very difficult to get into certain schools with a 2150. Basically, I think that while people here definitely stress out too much, you have no right to say anything given that you haven’t undergone a remotely similar process.

Do you think that you would’ve been accepted into all those universities without your athletic talent?

And besides, those who are asking to retake 2100s are aiming for top tier colleges, whose average scores are well up there. No one wants too look like a “below average” applicant.

Yea but, trust me, its just as stressful getting recruited. Because thats my only hope just like the SATS are yours i guess…

You have to work inside the classroom, as well as me, just not as much.

But i have to spend my life, and will have to spend my college life being owned by the coach.

The difference between the SAT score that I have now and the 2050+ that I’m shooting for, could make me or break me for some colleges. That’s why it’s stressful.

the op is ignorant. No kidding being an athlete is hard, but your situation is different than most other applicants. Where you don’t need to worry much about SATs and just do well on your sports, we need to worry about our SAts and do well in school. Its simply worrying about different things, my best friends are probably going to be recruited athletes so I know how it is.

“Yea but, trust me, its just as stressful getting recruited. Because thats my only hope just like the SATS are yours i guess…”

you answered your own question

“Get outside and enjoy life”… are you proposing to know what each and every student on this forum finds enjoyable? if people want to worry about their SAT scores, then they can. if the worrying wasn’t worth the reward of seeing a high score or getting accepted into a good college, people wouldn’t do it. you like sports and the outdoors apparently, and some kids like perfecting their test scores. we can all be happy.
