<p>I have to tell you all about the New Horizons Bands (and in some areas, New Horizons Orchestras.) Founded 20 years ago by Roy Ernst, who felt adults should have an outlet for music-making, at any age and skill level. Some members played in high school, decades ago, and finally have the time to get back to their instrument. Some never played before, and others are taking up a 2nd or 3rd instrument at an advanced age. Everyone is learning and making music together. Rehearsals are in the day time (cater to retired people), and socializing is part of the time together.</p>
<p>If you are interested, check to see if there is a NH Band in your area. It’s so much fun! I had dropped flute for over 30 years but was able to get back into playing with this very forgiving group. Piccolo too. :)</p>
