Why would you party during high school?

Why do you even care if others party? It’s their choice.

It depends on what kind of bird you look like. If you look like this bird: http://www.blogbat.us/uglybyrd.jpeg</a> people tend to avoid you but if you look like this bird:http://www.penn-olson.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Twitter-Bird-Sexy.png</a>
you are irresistible. Most birdlike humans are somewhere in between.

The original question could be reversed, Why wouldn’t you party?
-illegal (some care, others don’t)
-harmful to the body (bad reason, as long as it isn’t 24/7 there will most likely not be any effects)
-“because I’m a good kid” (obnoxious, elitist response)
-experience (one of the only good reasons, whether is be yourself, or someone you know)
-I guess if you’re one of those people who doesn’t know how to limit themselves, it would be a good idea.
-No interest (not sure how I feel about this one, either there is another reason, or the person is so socially awkward that they aren’t ever involved in the party scene, and don’t know what it’s like.

That’s my 2 cents

None of those apply to me, but nice try premed I appreciate the efforts to send it back over to me

Welp, [This is me.](http://www.maxwaugh.com/images/zoo06/vulture1.jpg)

Now, I could show up at a party full of gorgeous peahens with a smorgasbord of carrion, but it wouldn’t really get me anywhere if there were a bunch of peacocks around who already had their attention. Why would it be “fun” for me to play a game that I can’t win?

No thanks, I’ll stick to my perch in the desert canyon. All alone… :[

Responsible drug use is pretty sweet. I know I’ve enjoyed my fair share of weed and other stuff. Alcohol doesn’t really do it for me; I usually end up feeling sick before I can really get drunk.

Weed is healthier for you anyway, with pretty much no bad side effects (unless you have an allergy, obvs) :stuck_out_tongue:

If you don’t believe me, [Super High Me (Part 1) - YouTube](<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube)

EDIT: I am in college, though, so the environment’s a lot safer and more tolerant.

^Ditto. I drink somewhat heavily, smoke weed every day, and do a fair amount of other drugs, but I don’t consider my morals affected in any way.

But I guess it depends on where you get your morals from - for example, if you get them from religion, which would be really antidrug, then I could see where you’re coming from. Just don’t try to impose the morals about drugs you get from religion (or society, or whatever) on me when I get my morals from my own personal beliefs, which have nothing to do with religion or society or anything like that. I get that that can be a hard thing to do, especially with so much propaganda about drugs and alcohol so prevalent (not that I’m saying all antidrug messages are propaganda…but there’s a difference between telling kids not to do drugs but providing solid information about them and just blatantly lying), but just try to not be judgmental because that’s really, really obnoxious.

The thing you have to realize is what you do on the weekends is in no way connected with what you do in school. People shouldn’t be categorized like this. Not all partiers are stupid. Not all people who stay in are smart. Some people can’t handle partying - either their grades drop or they have a lot of negative side effects. They shouldn’t do it.

Live and let live. I should note I’m in college too though, such a better, safer environment to use any kind of drug. I did almost nothing in high school and I am happy about that - when I see high schoolers doing drugs I wish they’d wait at least until college…I get that my brain isn’t fully developed either but it’s best if you can wait as long as possible.

The college kids have some good points. I say kids because I don’t know what else to call you guys? Ahah but btw I am In no way religious and my beliefs are my own personal beliefs that stem from my experiences.

In my experience it’s the kids who don’t drink in high school that end up having drinking problems in college.

*** is up with you guys. “Who wants to party in high school?” are you ****ing ■■■■■■■■?

^^ I guess I’m gonna have a whole host of problems in college :(

Simple- because it’s awesome. Everyone who says they haven’t is either lying or really missing out, unless they make up for it in doing something really stupid otherwise. It’s cause the pressure of the modern world has made our mundane lives so miserable/unpleasant, that the artificial stimulation of endorphins is nicer than nothing. The human mind has the inevitable craze to find some sort of “higher” level of consciousness, so to speak. Some of the most pleasant moments of my life have been spent under the influence of something, as it may have been for most people. ( I.E. weddings- a commonplace of binge-drinking or concerts, meccas of drug-use) While I don’t need drugs or alcohol to make things more pleasant, they sure do make things a hell of a lot more interesting.

For those who have never gone for a hike and listened to music while stoned or partied, I’m sorry that you’re missing out. However, I absolutely respect you’re wish to stay sober or to not partake to participate in such activities; which can definitely take a toll on you in one way or another. But I really do think that every human should experience the joy of forgetting one’s troubles for a couple of hours. Call me a sinner, call me a bad kid, call me whatever you want. I’m still a great student, I’m more well read/cutured than most people my age, have done very helpful things for my community such as saving lives, and hope to lead a life full of successes. I just enjoy partying.
Sorry for the length, it’s just nice to vent once in a while, haha
And hey, I am in the same boat as more than half of the U.S.'s youth.

College parties are far better than high school parties. The vast majority of hardcore party-ers in high school probably aren’t going to college. Hope that clears a little bit up.

Ok, maybe I shouldn’t say vast majority, but please understand that you are a minority if you are a hardcore party-er and you are posting in this forum.

@ OP

Lol if you drink a little at a party with good looking high school girls I guarantee your thoughts about the subject will change instantly

^ patwita is a girl and I don’t think she’s a lesbian. Just helping you out.

Well, who would want to go out and get drunk when you could just stay home and watch reruns of Grey’s Anatomy?

Yes I am a girl and not a lesbian haha. Squared I can’t tell if you are being sarcastic or not but I actually watch Greys anatomy on weekend nights instead of getting drunk

Why dont you get drunk AND watch Greys anatomy? Mind=blown

Patwita, I was not being sarcastic. I really don’t see the appeal of being drunk anyways. Maybe it’s because I’m a neurotic control freak, but the thought of my brain not being under my control just maddens me.

this thread is useless without pictures. seriously.

for a girl, OP, you’re very mature - do you have a boyfriend?
