I’m just wondering if this is an error or not, is everyones space for this statement 500 character maximum. That’s like 5 sentences!

Not an error: just another mind-jarring exercise for would-be Yalies.

writing that in 500 characters is wayyy harder than doing it in 500 words.

so, you have to be general or specific in such limited space (?)

Have you guys seen that 78 word Yale essay that was apparently loved so much by the adcom that they went out of their way to tell the student’s guidance counselor what a good essay it was?

^What essay is this? PM me? :)

I was just looking for interest, I’ll spread the love and put it up here–

Apparently “Yale’s admissions officers liked this essay so much they mentioned it to the guidance counselor of author David Roosth. Says David 'My best advice for future students is to investigate the college very intensely and write about the esoteric things that most would overlook.”

The essay?

Whoops, got too excited and hit the enter key. Here it is–

Upon a recent Yale visit, I conversed with a Yale senior in the admissions office about his experiences. He had only two complaints about the university: there were too many student protestors, and the university sands the roads instead of salting them in the winter. I love that Yale is a place where the students are motivated to change the world, and the faculty encourages them to act. Sanding saves the environment. What annoyed this Yale student impresses me.

I don’t know, what do you guys think?

Mad. Skillz.

I read that one in a book. It was intense :]
