Why you should save up for a rainy day

I got recently burned because I never took the time to put aside some emergency money for a rainy day.
And then, to add insult to injury, I came across this article that lays out just how stupid it is NOT to put money into an emergency fund. It makes some really good points and is quite short. Here’s an excerpt:

The article is here:
[Emergency Cash - How and Why you should put some aside | Where The Money At?](http://wherethemoney.at/your-money/emergency-cash-how-and-why-you-should-put-some-aside/)

The article then goes on to lay out how to save and how much, etc. Anyway, it’s a pretty entertaining read.

So I’m curious - Do you guys save any money for emergencies in college?

This ranks right up there with the Facebook app “How long would you survive the coming zombie apocalypse?”

Here’s a hint… always go for a shotgun and claymores.
