So I did 1 semester at a Foreign University and got 1 F and 1 D. I have done well at community college and my UC gpa is a 3.5. When you factor in the F and the D, my gpa goes to a 3.2. I talked with the UCLA people and they said the two grades will be factored in if you do not take an equivalency. My major is anthropology and I completed the 3 prequisites. I am also on TAP with UCLA and my Tag for Another UC was approved with those two bad grades. I heard and have seen most people get into anthropology with TAP with 3.2 gpa’s. Is it true? What are your thoughts?

Average GPA admitted to UCLA for Anthro is 3.56 for BA and 3.65 for BS. So there is no “disqualification” that is going to happen with you. You simply have a low GPA, that is all. With TAP that helps a lot so go ahead and keep your fingers crossed. What you should have done is found equivalent classes at your CC and retaken them for a better grade. You still have spring though.

It’s really no problem depending on how many units you have. As MeStudyStuff already stated, you can take classes at the CC, equivalent to the classes at the UC. 1 F and 1 D is no problem, as many others that were admitted to UCLA have worst academic records.

How many units did you complete at the University?
