Will 2 W's and an F on my undergrad transcript hurt me?

So, I have an F in chemistry II, a W in Stats I, and a W in Botany. All of these classes do not pertain to my major anymore. My F and W in Botany can be explained through my adviser pushing me to take said classes with zoology my second semester of freshman year with respective labs and a liberal course; needless to say, I was not ready for such a class load when most students take botany or zoology with chemistry II, not both with chemistry II. Also, I had a personal issue that affected me greatly, both academically and personally. The W in Stats I occurred the summer into my senior year of high school when I had signed up for a class through my school, but received no notification that I was enrolled and I automatically received an “W” after finding out the course occurred and I hadn’t attended one class - a great senior gift during homecoming weekend.

As of now, my major GPA is a 4.00, but my overall is a 3.2, which can be attributed to my original major and not the best of grades my 1st year of college. I also have two minors, in which one is a 3.5 and the other is approximately a 3.5 as well (grade has yet to be determined).

Will it hurt you? Yes.

Will it keep you out of grad school? Depends. Impossible to say. Every student has strong points and weak points in their application profile, but it’ll depend on who you are competing with in the application pool and how strong the rest of your application is.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Some grad schools only look at your last 60 hours. Make sure you have great recommendations. They are way more important in grad school admissions than undergraduate.
