will a 2120 hurt?

when i took the sat the first time, that’s what i got. i’m a junior and i’m pretty sure it will get to 2250+ before i mail in apps. will having the 2120 on my report when i send in my scores hurt?

Certainly not!! Honestly, adcoms aren’t going to care how low your original score is (search around the forums if you don’t believe me), but regardless of that, a 2120 would never, never, ever be looked down on. Don’t worry about it!!

thanks 10 char

It won’t hurt, but a 2250+ would make your application more competitive for the upper-tier schools.

I had a 2120 when I applied to Chicago, MIT and Pitt this year. In October I raised it to a 2260. As soon as pitt recieved the scores, I was sent a full tuition scholarship. I don’t know if I would have recieved one if I had not increased my scores.

If you can get your score to the 2180 - 2270 threshold, then you’ll be fine.
