Will a "D" kill my chances?

I'm a Junior in High School hoping to attend CU Boulder in 2011, and want to major in Psychology. Prior to this semester I had an unweighted GPA of a 3.3 (Nothing to be proud of...) and scored a 30 on the ACT. Recently I got a D in my Physics class because I missed a large amount of labs from chronic absences, though I had a high test average. My cumulative GPA is now a 3.2.

These last few months I've gone through an ugly divorce between my parents in addition to multiple deaths in the family, not that this is an excuse but would that be grounds for further consideration of my application? CU isn't all that selective, but I'm worried this one grade could keep me out of a decent University. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance everyone.
