Will a good practice test score affect the actual test with overconfidence?

Hey CCers! I recently got a 2370 on the BB 2nd edition test #1. It was under as close to testing conditions as possible; timed, short breaks, official essay paper, etc. Here’s the breakdown.
M: 770 with a -2,
CR: 800 with a -3,
W: 800 with a -0, so the acceptable essay range is 9-12. I wrote an essay that filled all 51 lines, usually a guarantee of 10+.

It really makes the elusive 2400 seem reachable, but I scored a 2150 on the Jan 2012 SAT and wonder if this is just a fluctuation thing. Or maybe that harsh curve on the Jan test. I’m taking the March 2012 test too, so is this evident of a higher score? When you get good practice test scores, do you feel a bit overconfident on test day?

Most students score very high in BB #1 test. I believe D2 scored similar(2350+), I was overconfident that she would do well, but for subsequent tests she took from the BB it seems to squelch that confidence. I think if you go through all the BB tests and score consistently high then you can be confident that you will get high scores in real SAT.

The BB #1 test is really easy IMO compared to other SAT’s and the curve for that test is really generous too…

Take the second test to know your real score… I got a 2160 on the first test and then a 2050 on the second
