<p>I have a 34 in English but a terrible science score of 24… And I’m majoring in biology (pre med)… Will this affect my application, and if so, then should I write in my major as undeclared? Also I was wondering do colleges look more at math and english than science and reading? That’s what I’ve heard.</p>
<p>It will impact your application, but not as much as you think. If you have other good grades in science (school,SAT 2’s, SAT 1), it should be fine. Most schools also don’t judge based on majors (obviously some do though).</p>
<p>It is to your advantage to take the test as many times as possible. A lot of schools superscore (take the highest individual score of each section), so if time is on your side, I would suggest taking the ACTs again to boost your chances.</p>
<p>Don’t major in pre-med if you solely are in it for the big bucks. You will regret it. </p>
<p>If you are applying to east/west coast, they look at English and math more exclusively than reading and science. If you are applying to anywhere that is not east/west coast, they really shouldn’t care about sections but more about the overall composite. You can certainly do pre-med and I’m certain you could do it, but don’t plan on getting into an accelerated medicine curriculum or anything like that.</p>
