One of my main extracurriculars is music. I’ve been first chair in band since fourth grade, lead in the top jazz band every year, made all state three years, and principal in the youth orchestras in my state.

I’m good, but I’m not GREAT.

I’m applying to an ivy ED and wondering whether it would undermine my involvement if my music supplement shows I’m not as great as I look on paper ( I feel like, to some extent, there was a shortage of my instrument in my area which is how I got some of the principals), if I end up just as above average instead of phenomenal.

Thanks!
