Will an Error on a Teacher Recommendation Affect Me?

Recently, I asked one of my teachers to print out the rec letter he had already written for my Common App colleges. It had to be snail mail only so that I could send the letter to a third college for a full ride scholarship. The teacher’s seal was on the envelope flap so I did not get to read it, but I noticed that he had typed out " ‘4’ on the AP…" through the paper.

This is a little confusing to me since I received a 5 on the AP exam for the class tied to this teacher. He even has a plaque in his classroom of all the 5-scorers, and my name is up there! If it’s not just a typo then I’m a little disappointed that he doesn’t know I got the score I worked for, but either way this information will be incongruent to the score I told the colleges I received.

I have already been accepted to my six schools, but this letter of recommendation was sent to two schools, in addition to the one mentioned above. Do you think something like this could reflect negatively on my profile and my acceptance into an honors’ program etc, or am I putting too much thought into this?

Shouldn’t the schools be in receipt of the ‘official’ AP scores separately?

That’s true - I just hope they know that while they’re reading the letter. I think I am just freaking out a bit.

If you were in an EA or an ED round and you got deferred, it would make a great reason to contact the admissions committee. Unfortunately, as it is, it falls in the category of “just one of those things”. I don’t know why people don’t check their work more thoroughly.
