<p>So I have a bit of a complicated situation on my hands, and I’m not sure what to do about it.
I was on a competitive sports team at my community college last year, however I was not going to return this year because I had the option of graduating/ transferring a semester early (therefore would not be able to finish the season with the team). Halfway through the summer session my old coach contacted me asking me to return to the team. I agreed to join them for summer camp/ competition, but let my coach know that I already had prior arrangements which would prevent me from fully committing to the team, which he said was okay.</p>
<p>Just before the summer competition there was an incident where I was dropped and hit the back of my head directly on the floor, which I’m fairly positive I received a mild concussion from (I failed to count to ‘10’ correctly when asked). However, I was unable to make it to the doctors before camp, but decided I would go after if I still was not feeling 100%. At camp I was asked by my coach to do several things that I, personally, felt were unnecessary and dangerous while in my current condition, but despite voicing my worries, and my coach knowing how I had been dropped through out the previous week, he forced me to do them anyways. Thankfully, someone else stepped in and caught me while I was upside-down, otherwise I would have landed on my head, once again.</p>
<p>Although I did not get hurt at camp (other people, however, did have serious injuries, and he wanted to make them continue, but the medics told him no, in their current condition it isn’t safe and they wouldn’t allow it), the fact that my coach disregarded my safety, especially while I had not yet been able to go to the doctors to be checked for a concussion, as well as the safety of my teammates, made me realize it would not be safe for me to continue after camp (as I would likely be forced again into doing something hazardous). So I withdrew after camp, and after only being enrolled in the class for 2 weeks, and let my coach know I would no longer be on the team due to safety and health concerns. </p>
<p>I read online that a withdraw does not affect your grade, so I wasn’t worried. However, when I checked my transcript I saw that it was recorded as a “FW” and was input in my GPA as if I received an “F”. I am (was?) a 4.0 student, so this is really worrisome to me and I’m wondering if there is any way I can get this removed from my transcript, or at least changed to a plain “W”. I’ve never withdrawn from a class before so I’m not quite sure how to go about this. I read somewhere that "FW"s only get taken off your transcript in extreme circumstances, and I also don’t want to throw the whole athletic program “under the buss”, so to speak, just to get the "FW’ removed.</p>
<p>Could anyone offer some advice?</p>
