<p>My junior D1 landed a great summer biochem lab internship with a local government research agency who partners with UMCP. Will this help with her admission chances? Or does UMD just focus on GPA and SAT for admission, not factoring in ECs?</p>
<p>For admission, the “numbers” rule. But since your D is obviously a very good student, it’s my guess she could be up for Honors and/or merit awards and for these, that internship will be a boost. It will also be a plus should she seek research work once in college. Congrats :)</p>
