Will any of these colleges accept a formerly suspended student?

I was attending a 4 year college, and was kicked out out of the program (chem). The program, not the whole school. Since I don’t have a program however, I need to apply as a transfer to another one. It was for low grades. This was about two years ago.

I attended a cc the following fall, earned a B. I have mostly been working to pay off my CC bills.
I am planning on attending again this fall to retake some courses I got a C in. I also plan to ask these professors for recommendations.

I am planning on transferring to a different 4 year to hopefully continue pursuing a major in chem.
My gpa was a 2.6 at the old university. I volunteered alot and was active in some clubs. At CC, I was active in clubs as well, and plan on joining the newspaper.

I was wanting to apply to the following:
-University of Rochester ( I live closeby, and have been talking to the transfer people ad the chem dept and they all know me by now so I was hoping that might help)

  • u of washington - seattle
    -uc santa barbara
    -uc santa cruz

-maybe a state school

I think it’s been enough time, as well as showing I can improve my grades would help make the app look better

Any ideas for schools I could apply to?

Thanks!

I don’t see how a 2.6 GPA can possibly be competitive for admission to any of the colleges you mentioned. How do you propose paying the $55k per year that UCs charge out-of-state students if you’re struggling with bills from your community college?

For the California UC’s, as an Non-resident you need a minimum 2.8 GPA.

From the UC website:
Junior-level transfer

To be eligible for UC admission, students must fulfill the following:

Complete 60 semester (90 quarter) units of transferable college credit with a GPA of 2.8 for nonresidents.

I have two years of financial aid that I don’t want to spend on CC. I get enough to cover a private university, but have limited time left. So I figured I would try to pay the CC out of pocket and use max fin aid for more expensive school.

I am originally from California, and have residency there. I am in New york for school
