Will AP creidts fufill certain distribution requirements?

I know you can be given credit for certain AP scores, but can that count for takign away some of the distribution requirements, or you have to take classes at Penn for all of the requirements?
Thank you!

BUMP. I would like to know the answer to this question to!! I understand how it works for Wharton (mostly), but for CAS…that’s a little crazy!

For CAS the only distribution requirement you can fulfill with AP testing is the language requirement. If you are in CAS, your AP credit will most likely go towards free electives. For example, I got 5s on both English exams, I got two elective credits (it may actually only have been one but I forgot) and I still had to take the writing seminar like everyone else.

Ok, so AP credits are not just thrown away? They do count for…something (even free electives help)?
