Will CCC hurt my education??

I’m currently a senior in HS.

I have a 3.9 GPA, 2020 SAT (latest score), will receive last one next week.

I really want to go to UC Berkeley, but since my stats are too low, I’m thinking about going to a CCC for 2 years and then transfer instead of going to a CSU or another UC.

But I’m worried that going to a CCC will dramatically hinder my chances at going to a great graduate school like CalTech or MIT.

And I’m worried that I might be stuck in a CCC for more than 2 years because I heard a lot of people can’t get the classes required due to space or they can’t transfer their credits.

Can anyone tell me what their experience is like in a CCC and transferring to a UC?

Thanks.

Going to a community college will in no way hinder you from going to a top graduate school. No admissions committee cares where you did the first two years of your college program.

My father went from high school dropout to Cal paleontology Ph.D by way of L.A. Valley College.

Very cool story, thank you very much for sharing.

@polar - thats good to know haha…since ive been at USC, all ive been hearing from everyone is that CC hurts your chances of going to a good grad school because they dont care for what you did there. but if your father did well…maybe theyre wrong. i sure hope so
