I didn’t study at all for my ACT and did pretty mehhh. 5 years later, I’m going into LSA for Computer Sciences and planning on applying to CoE after the first year. Do you think the CoE will put a lot of weight on my ACT or do you think they will base it off of how I do during Calc 1, Chem, etc.?

I don’t know for certain but I’m pretty certain CoE won’t care too much about your ACT score. I don’t think its even required for transfers so your college results will definitely be what CoE cares about.

Well if you’re a transfer student then it isn’t required - just optional. As a freshman applicant however your ACT will be used for your admittance into LSA. Once you apply to CoE after a certain amount of time you are re-classified into a different category (it’s called cross-campus transfer or something) and yes, it is usually easier to get into CoE from LSA assuming you’ve got the grades.

Can’t you just retake the ACT if you want to, don’t automatically report the scores, wait to see what you get, submit it if it’s way better? 5 years is a long time and they will much more look at what you’ve done in between, I think. But if you haven’t been in school during that time, maybe you want to retake it.
