My school doesn’t do electronic mail for transcripts, and I send out my official transcripts on the 12th. None of the school I applied to have received my official transcript yet. I just want to know if they didn’t receive my official transcript will admission even look at my application? I was told by someone that if required documents are missing they will not view your application at all. I am guessing my application will be filtered out automatically before it can be handed to the admission team. Can some one with more experience in the admission process clarify this? I’ve already got in my safety school, but I would still like to get a fair chance to showcase my ability to these reaches as well. I would hate to be rejected based on paperwork instead of my personal ability and skill.
By the way, one of the school I applied to told me it is highly unlikely for me to get accepted without a valid SAT/ACT score. Due to personal reasons and the virus there is no way I can provide it on time. Is it possible for me to waive my rights and let the admission team judge my SAT score with a zero score in mind? All I want is to get a fair chance of getting my application views as a whole, I will fully respect all these school’s final decisions.
Your college should send the midterm report. You have to request the SAT scores though. Have you taken the SAT/ACT? If you have scores and the school requires them, you should send them.
I don’t understand what rights you’re talking about. Your application is either complete or it isn’t. If a college isn’t text optional you can’t just decide not to send your scores and expect them to review your app and offer you admission. You can request the scores and let the college know they’re on the way. When is the deadline for transfer apps?
I am 29 years old. Last time I took the SAT it was 11~12 years ago. Unfortunately it can no longer be used. I think you misunderstood me on what I said about testing. I fully understand that my application can either be completed or not. Due to the fact that I can’t get a SAT/ACT done in time there is no way I can submit a valid testing score. Which is why I wanted to know if I can just tell the admission team to accept a temporary score of zero, so I can get the rest of my application looked at. Yes I am that confident that I can get into any top tech art program in the country even with a SAT score of zero. I also want to stress that I am not a high school grad with zero experience who is still trying to figure out what they want to do in life. You can think of me as a professional who has done numerous projects already, I have been vetted. You can pm me for my art and programming projects. I am simply going back to school to get a degree. I have had enough life experience to know that it doesn’t matter which school I go to I will be extremely successful. I just don’t like the fact that my application will get tossed because I can’t provide a testing score on time.
@inkplay; several schools announced today they are going test optional for the remainder of the 2020 admissions cycle a d some for 2021. Call the admissions departments (many are working from home) to see what you NOW need to have your application reviewed.
You’ve already gotten into a safety, the other schools are cream.
If you’ve are asking for a zero on your SAT, then you won’t get anywhere.
They closed down there phone line, so its email only. They did send out an email recently saying they accept unofficial documents like transcript, college report etc, but they didn’t say anything about SAT.
Well the way they replied back to me made it seems like they won’t even consider me at all if I don’t get the score requirement out of the way. They didn’t say anything about having a temp score of zero. I know that’s stupid thing to ask that’s why I wanted to ask here first to see maybe some one did this before. Anyways, I am still very much in love with their program, but oh well. I did everything I could, so there are no regrets here.
So the college refused to accept your old score and you haven’t had time to retake it this year? There’s no such thing as a “temporary score of zero.” I think the best you can do is call and ask if they’ll review your app without it.
Being this late into the application process and not having a SAT/ACT score sounds like poor planning on your part. Even if we didn’t have the current crisis, how would you have taken the test? We’re you planning on taking the April ACT? That would have been late.
I definitely agree with you I screwed up the planning. I didn’t find the program until the day before the common app deadline. I felt a really strong connection with the program after I watched their promo video. That’s why I had to apply. I falsely assumed the SAT score wasn’t needed since it is very common for transfer students to skip this requirement. Out of all the schools I applied to this was the only school that requires a SAT scores.
