Will college get better for me?

Allow me to tell you a little about my first year of college. It was very stressful at times and though I did learn a lot, there was some things I had trouble with. Also there was a period that I went through that I called my depression phase where I literally was depressed about everything and the everyday college routine got so old. After getting some on campus help and proper sleeping and eating I felt much better. Still I had the everyday routine is going to get boring stuck in my head and I knew it was only my first year. I have heard that this is normal for first year college students. This fall term for my second year I am going to be moving into my fraternity house. (It is not as a party environment as it may seem.) However, I will be living in a special single room with a couple of my close brothers in the same hall. Anyway will my experience get better and does everyone get tired of the everyday routine, or is it just me? Hopefully I won’t go through my depression stage again. If so what are ways to be able to cope with this? Hopefully college would get better for me and it’ll keep me interested.

Two years ago I had a rough first year as well. Looking at your situation, I think it’s great that you have your OWN room while being surrounded by people whom you enjoy being around. The daily routine can certainly get a bit depressing, but since you know it’s coming, try to find things to look forward to. Otherwise, you’ll be in the same rut as last year.

Thanks, I have been thinking the same thing. Hopefully I will find things to look foward to. This year I am going back with a car so I would be able to find things to do around town. Thanks.
