<p>My question is will colleges recognize that at least in my case there are limited options for AP classes in my school and ones that have a similar subject test are only available for seniors. If I took US History SAT II and Literature SATII but i never took ap hist or ap english, would colleges realize this and say maybe the two 700’s scored on each are pretty impressive, more impressive than someone who took both ap courses and got the same score?</p>

<p>I’ve heard of colleges liking students who take initiative like that. Colleges like it when students look for challenging classes that their schools cannot offer. For instance, by taking classes at a community college, taking AP tests after teaching yourself the material since the school doesn’t offer the AP class, and by taking SAT IIs and doing well despite coming from a school that doesn’t offer honors or AP classes.</p>
<p>But who knows how the colleges you apply to will see this. And it’s not really like your school doesn’t offer the classes, they just restrict them, right? However, a good technique to get the colleges to realize your hard work if you do take the SAT IIs is to have your guidance counselor write about your endeavors in his or her letter of recommendation. In fact, if you did that, I think it would be quite impressive.</p>
<p>ok so just make it clear to the guidance counselor of what I did i guess…and rlh0234, my school offers an AP english only to seniors and no course AP USH but i took both subj tests that corresponded to each AP class.</p>
