Will colleges care which year I took a class in? [multivariable calculus in 10th versus 11th grade]

repost bc I’m anxious lol
I was going to take mv calc this year as a sophomore but couldn’t because of health problems. I’m so mad at myself for dropping it because I could have pushed through and done it. But now I’m taking it next year. Will this negatively affect my college application? I’m thinking of going into chem but everyone says you’re supposed to take the hardest classes available to you and I stupidly didn’t do that lol
On top of that I go to a fairly competitive high school and it feels like everyone is also taking mv calc in 10th/11th grade so I’m not even ahead of the curve.

Thanks!

Unless you are attending an elite science/math focused school, it is highly unlikely that multivariable calculus in 10th grade is the norm. Multivariable calculus is normally a college sophomore class, and is close to the top math that you will need in college if you are not a math, statistics, or (pre-PhD) economics major (other math-heavy majors may need linear algebra and/or differential equations, but not more).

More important to take care of your health issues. You are ahead of most HS students.

Just curious, when did you take algebra, geometry, algebra 2, and precalculus?

You are years ahead of where you need to be. No one needs to take in hs so you are fine.

You will be fine. If you didn’t have any math (or missed other core courses) this year, have your counselor explain why in their LoR when college application time comes. Good health to you.

“You will be fine” is the definitive answer here so closing before this thread goes down the rabbit hole.
