Will colleges see that you register for but do not take the SAT?

I will retake the SAT this Octobor, and I score around 2100~2250 on practice tests. The problem is I want to register for the December test in case I score under 2200 on the real test, but I don’t plan to take the Dec. test if I get 2200+. Will colleges see that I register for but do not take the test on December?

I’m not sure anyone who doesn’t work for College Confidential can say for SURE, but…

My only experience is that my D signed up for two SAT IIs. She realized she was NOT prepared for one of them, and cancelled her scores for that day. In looking at her online information, which shows all scores earned to date (SAT I, the other time she took the SAT IIs, and her upcoming registration)…there is NOTHING to indicate she signed up for and/or took those tests. It’s “disappeared”. Good luck. You can ALSO use “late registration” instead. Besides…what is the cutoff date for normal registration for December? It’s not until AFTER you get October scores, is it? I THINK October scores come out on … Oct 29th? And…what about the November test? (or perhaps it’s the November test you’re actually speaking of?).

People sign up and then don’t take a test for a multitude of reasons. And I agree with R12, only your test scores show up on your record, not registrations.
