will colleges...

my current SAT score is a 1950 and i plan to take the ACT this fall. I’ve been doing pretty good on the practice tests and hope to get a high score. lets say i do well on the ACT, will colleges [ivys such as Columbia & Cornell] disregard my SAT score if i don’t want them to see it? Can they just look at my ACT score and base my admissions on that?

You don’t have to send your SAT score to any college if that’s what you want. I sent my ACT scores only to schools unless they required my SAT IIs as well. Colleges will base their decisions on what you send them and if you’ve given everything they need to base their decisions.

thanks! and is there any penalty if you get a question wrong like the SATs?

you don’t get points off, per se, but depending on the section, your score can either stay the same or shoot down a lot per section.
