According to the ■■■■■■■■. Com Columbia accepted 58 percent of it’s 2014 class ED. Do you think it will happen again this year?

43%. 10char

I thought it was 19%

43% of the class, but the admit rate is something like 19%.

columbia usually is between 43-44%, though for the year that they expanded the class middle of the cycle, early was much lower something probably closer to 39% of the class that year.

how about 100%?

Ok I thought you were talking about the admissions rate. 100%, I wish they should accept 58% of EDs since their willing to throw out all other colleges for one.

hey admissiongeek can you answer a few questions for me?

if columbia calls your school to ask for your grades, they ask for grades up to a standard point (end of a grading cycle such as 9 weeks) right??? they dont just say please give me ____'s grades EXACTLY AS OF RIGHT NOW right?

(because like alot of my teachers dont enter grades at set times, and sometimes on the online grade recording thing it would show i have a B or even a C for a class at the moment because of one or two grades, but I always pull my grades up to A’s by the end of grading cycle)

Thanks!

Ya gotta stop asking this. :P

no i just want to make sure with admissiongeek because all ive been getting are a bunch of I don’t think so’s and I want to make sure lol

I like your thinking college626!!! But I read on college board that is was 22%…

when columbia asks for grades they are usually vague - in the sense that they don’t want to presume how a school grades and will allow the school to interpret it however they wish. if the school says we do not have any grades, then columbia will probably not push them. but grades first marking period are very helpful for ED. i mean intuitively at that point senior year usually is the hardest curriculum year, and columbia would like to see how you’re handling the stress of the new academic year.

So,what exactly does it mean when they dont ask for grades at a particular high school?

^ That they feel they don’t need any extra information to make a decision.

Oh okay. I feel sorta relieved.

Thanks so much admissiongeek!

if you dont mind me doing so, i have another question. For ED, I scanned my report card…because my counselor had sent in her rec before 1st grading cycle grades came out…is that okay, or does admission officers think thats annoying and would probably call counselors to ask for “legitimate” grades anyway? Thanks!

(My cousin is hitting senior year next year, so I guess I’m watching out for him lol)
